I’ve been hearing several people talk about their health ailment like it’s just a given and a new part of them that they just have to deal with! So what do you do? When you have a health concern like one of these listed above, you can ignore it for as long as possible […]

HOW WE GOT STARTED:Stacey started her fitness training in Spearfish at Downtown Gym the spring of 2013, learning all she could before she ventured out on her own. New Heart Fitness was actually born in “Neuharth’s” garage with 2 clients (the neighbors). Then, in November of 2014 it was time to move to town and expand with new equipment and new options for the people of Belle Fourche. This small personal training studio served well for strictly personal training and small group fitness. Exactly three years later another expansion to our current location came with more new equipment, larger space, improved bathroom and shower facilities, gym memberships available and two new trainers joined the team.
After teaching special education for 13 years Stacey decided to pursue her other “teaching” passion by moving the setting of her classroom to the gym. It is Stacey’s passion to help people of all ages and abilities meet their heath and fitness goals while making fitness fun! 5 years of personal training experience has advanced her coaching in the areas of weight loss, muscle gain, cardiovascular health, strength, mobility, flexibility and overall health. Stacey greatly enjoys working with diverse groups and meeting clients at their level. In her spare time she enjoys biking, horseback riding and chasing her three kids as […]
Meet NASM certified personal trainer, Jesse Hoffmann. Jesse’s own experience with weight loss, and the energy and confidence that came with losing weight and eating healthy is what drove him to decide to become a personal trainer. Jesse is truly in it for the right reasons: to help others to improve their quality of life.
Meet Danielle McKenzie. Fitness has always been very important to me. As a collegiate softball player, I was dedicated to fitness since a young age. After college, I lived and breathed endurance running. In 2011, I found myself wanting to be a more well-rounded athlete so I started doing CrossFit.

When you take a day “off” from the gym, what does that look like? Do you go for a walk or bike ride (active recovery)? Do you sit on the couch… all day (passive rest)? What’s the point? The point of a recovery day is to recover from your training not only in the physical sense, but it’s also a much-needed mental break. Your recovery days can be composed of many different things. But, research suggests that active recovery is the best and most efficient way to help boost muscle recovery and reduce soreness. If you choose to lay on […]
We are so close to the holidays again, it seems like this year flew by! When I get close to the end of a year I like to look back at my progress throughout the year. Of course this post is geared towards fitness progress, but you could apply this to any aspect of your life you wish to improve upon. Let’s say for example your goal this year was weight loss or muscle gain. When you look in the mirror do you see the progress you have made this past year, or are you only looking at the progress […]
